12:00 p.m.: “Slice-of-Life Storytelling on Social Media”  
 
Comics creators often work across mediums, and in recent years, they have increasingly used social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter as part of their process. This panel explores how creators use social media to supplement their narrative work in print and connect with their audience.

1:00 p.m.: “Independent Creators Building New Worlds”
 
Do you have a story to tell? Would you like to see more characters and stories that relate to you? Maybe it’s time to write your own! These “indie” creators will lead a discussion about creating comics outside the mainstream and provide tips on exactly how to do it.

2:00 p.m.: “Historias en Graphic Medicine”  
 
Graphic Medicine is the intersection of comics and stories rooted in medicine and health-related issues. Comics offer a vehicle for conveying difficult stories surrounding taboo topics such as physical and mental illness, loss, and recovery. Join us for a discussion of how the comics form works as a uniquely healing medium.

3:00 p.m.: “Building Nuanced Narratives Through Comics”  
 
The comic book fanbase is a diverse landscape of readers, representing all genders, nationalities, ethnicities, sexual preferences, physical and neural abilities, and ages.  As the industry continues to evolve, so, too, should the diversity of its creators, characters, titles, and genres to better represent its fanbase. This panel will discuss the importance of inclusivity in the comic book medium and the ways in which they are making the greatest efforts to bring inclusivity to their work.

4:00 p.m.: “Bringing Comics to the Classroom”
 
Comic books are making their way into classrooms, providing new educational opportunities for readers of all ages. This panel of comic book creators will discuss how and why comic books have a place in educational settings, and why sequential art storytelling is so valuable for both educators and students.

12:00 p.m.: “Children’s and Young Adult Art and Literature”
 
LCAF’s artist alley boasts a plethora of talented creators for both Children’s and Young Adult comics. Join a selection of these authors and artists for a discussion on how they are using comics, art, and literature to bring incredible stories and characters to young readers.

1:00 p.m.: “El Muerto and Me: A 25th Anniversary Celebration”
 
Join cartoonist Javier Hernandez as he launches this behind-the-scenes retrospective showcasing insights and tales of his adventures in comics, film, and more through his creation, El Muerto the Aztec Zombie. Be the first to hear about work that is debuting exclusively at this Festival!

2:00 p.m.: “Low Lows con Libros”  
 
LCAF boasts an incredible lineup of lowriders every year! Join us for this first-time panel where four members of the lowriding community review comics created or published by Festival exhibitors: Quince (Fanbase Press), Tortilla #7 (Jaime Crespo), and Lowriders in Space (Cathy Camper).

3:00 p.m.: “Create Your Own LCAF Superhero!” (Workshop)
 
Artists and comic book creators Manuel Martinez and Oscar Romero lead this workshop for aspiring young comics creators, where you will have the chance to create and illustrate your very own LCAF superhero!

4:00 p.m.: “Latinx Artists and Transmedia Storytelling”  
 
Sequential art is extending beyond the pages of comic books and into other mediums of entertainment, including social media, film, TV, and beyond. Join this panel of talented Latinx artists as they share the unique mediums through which they are telling stories and sharing their voices with audiences.
